About Richard’s Local Dog Training
Richard’s Local Dog Training was founded with a simple goal: to provide reliable, professional dog care and training for dog owners in Chigwell and the surrounding areas.
Over the years, our team has built a strong reputation for trustworthy dog walking, effective behaviour training, and high-quality care for local dogs. Today we care for over 100 dogs every week, helping owners build better relationships with their dogs through training, structured walks, and consistent care.
Our work is driven by a genuine passion for dogs and a belief that every dog has the potential to become a well-behaved and emotionally balanced companion.
How It Started
Richard began working with dogs after recognising a natural ability to communicate with and lead them. From an early stage, it became clear that dogs responded strongly to loving leadership, structure, and clear guidance.

What began as a passion quickly developed into a professional service as more and more local dog owners began seeking help with training and dog care. As the business grew, additional team members were introduced to help meet the demand and ensure every dog receives the attention and care they deserve.
Richard’s own dogs, Beans and Millie, are perfect examples of this journey. Like many dogs, they started life as mischievous puppies full of energy and curiosity. Through consistent training, structure, and leadership, they developed into calm, well-behaved companions.

Seeing this same transformation happen with clients’ dogs is one of the most rewarding parts of the job. Many of the dogs we work with grow from energetic or challenging pups into well-balanced adult dogs that their owners can truly enjoy life with.
